Why did I start an online home-based business? Of course, I decided to do that after reading about others doing it and they not only make a lot of money from their business and gain their financial freedom, but also they achieve their time freedom. They can do whatever and whenever they want. I want to lead that kind of lifestyle that I used to dream about ( I'm sure most people do).

So I decided to change my life and felt so crazy about starting my own online home-based business that I told everyone about my intention ( to start an online home based business). However, rather than getting a 'green light' for that decision, what I received was a whole lot of negative remarks saying that 'it won't work' and 'you will be caught in a scam'. However, I remained strong and started to look for information in the internet. I checked out all the affiliate marketing sites, newsletters and forums. I looked for e-books about internet business by searching for keywords like 'proven internet business', 'automated income streams', 'internet marketing' and so on. There are so much information on different types of online business opportunities. All provide a guaranteed successful income (a six figure monthly income, mind you), and ask to join them and follow in their footsteps.

At this point, I thought that the first words were going to be true, that I will be scammed and I felt the need of a mentor or teacher who has already been there and done that, and is able to guide me to succeed. While searching the internet one day, I found a free e-book called The Dotcomology, written by the Home Biz guy. I studied that e-book and finally signed up through the pluginprofit site. After that, it was all history. Now, I have a website to promote my online opportunities. Also, the system provides full guidance to start my online home-based business.By having my own website with my own domain name and hosting account, my website looks professional and gives a good impression to my subscribers. As compared to a free server website which nobody likes to visit.

Therefore, making a research before I actually started my internet business has really paid off. I managed to avoid the mistakes made by most internet business starters who jump into any online business and subject themselves to scams.

So, after all this while, I am left to ask myself " What if I have started sooner?" After all, having my own internet home-based business gives me some advantages as to working for a company boss. I do not have to spend the time commuting to office which can be gruesome during the peak hours. i can now choose my own time and dresscode even if that means in my pyjamas the whole day.By spending more time in my online business, it makes more profits and increase s my earnings. An internet business does not require a large capital as compared to owning a traditional shop. Owning a website allows me to run my business 24/7. This will not stop even though I'm enjoying my vacation in some remote places. Everyday, my online business gets exposed to a growing market as more and more people are exposed to the internet. And of course, the most important reason for me to start my internet business is I can have my weekends off as no boss will tell me to come and work over the weekend again.

WordPress was born out of a desire for an elegant, well-architectured personal publishing system built on PHP and MySQL and licensed under the GPL. It is the official successor of b2/cafelog. WordPress is fresh software, but its roots and development go back to 2001. It is a mature and stable product. We hope by focusing on user experience and web standards we can create a tool different from anything else out there.
2005 was a very exciting year for WordPress, as it saw the release of our 1.5 version (introduced themes) which was downloaded over 900,000 times, the start of hosted service WordPress.com to expand WP's reach, the founding of Automattic by several core members of the WP team, and finally the release of version 2.0.
After 1.5 we seemed to have something people really liked and we've experienced some fairly rapid growth. Here are some metrics for 2006 and 2007.
In 2006 we had 1,545,703 downloads, in 2007 we had 3,816,965!
As for plugins we had 191,567 downloads of 371 unique plugins in 2006. In 2007 there were 2,845,884 downloads (15x growth) of 1,384 plugins.
2006 saw the introduction of the first WordCamp in San Francisco.
In 2007 we adopted a regular release schedule, putting out major feature releases roughly every 3-4 months, or three times a year.
Because of the number of improvements in version 2.5 we took an extra 3 months on it, but 2008 looks on track to do three major releases again. It will be a very exciting year.
There are now dozens of WordCamps around the world, from Vancouver to Dallas to Milan, Italy.

Acting Bangkok police chief Lt Gen Chongrak Chutanont ordered police dealing withh the People's Alliance for Democracy on Monday to keep only anti-riot shields as self-defence to prevent allegations that police hurt protesters.


Police not allowed to carry batons

"They can keep the shields for self-defence, it is no need to carry batons. They are just heavy. And if anything happened, police will be blamed,'' said Jongrak, who is also deputy national police chief.

Police also sought cooperation from the People's Alliance for Democracy to allow traffic on roads around the Government House during the day to alleviate traffic congestion, he said.

Jongrak replaced Lt Gen Assawin Kwanmuang, who was on Sunday, was hurriedly transferred to an inactive post, pending a promotion to a deputy national police chief.

A directive reportedly issued urgently by Interior Minister Kowit Watana who said Assawin would immediately be assigned to a desk job at the Royal Thai Police.

Assawin's hurried transfer was reportedly ordered by Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej, who was upset that Assawin had not acted on his many previous orders to disperse the anti-government People's Alliance for Democracy protesters.

Need for Speed: ProStreet (NFS:PS) is the latest installment of Electronic Arts’ popular racing game series Need for Speed. On May 21, 2007, Electronic Arts published a teaser trailer of ProStreet, and was then officially announced ten days later on May 31, 2007. It is due to be released worldwide in November 2007.

The demo, featuring two races, one speed challenge and one grip race, appeared on Xbox Live on October 26, 2007, and on PlayStation Store on November 1, 2007.

Need for Speed: ProStreet will take the Need for Speed series in a new direction of gameplay. Instead of an arcade style of gameplay which has dominated the series, ProStreet will focus much more on realism and move closer to, but not into, racing simulation, and still with options to use driving assistants to make driving easier and more arcade-like. Unlike its predecessors, all racing in ProStreet will take place on closed tracks, thus making it the first game in the series not animating illegal racing behaviour since Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, hence there will not be any police in the game. Performance tuning will take up a large part of gameplay in a way that even a small adjustment of the shape of a car’s body will impact its performance. Autosculpt is back from Carbon, but with much greater detail. According to an Electronic Arts employee, there will be thousands of aftermarket upgrades, visual and performance, from real performance brands.

In ProStreet there will be several different game modes, including Drag, Grip, Speed, and Drift. Drag race is simply a 1-mile drag race, the first to cross the finish line wins. Grip race, which is a circuit race, you do whatever you need to do, to cross the finish line first. Block your opponent, ram them, or even smash them off the track. Speed challenge is all about speed and control, you need to pass the checkpoints with highest possible speed, and the racer with the highest total checkpoint speed wins. Drift, you just drift for points.

ProStreet will feature next-generation graphics aiming for a more photo-realistic feel, and more advanced physics. It will also be the first Need for Speed game to include damage modelling since 2000’s Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed. The new damage system is said to be very accurate, as a collision with any object in the game world may render a car damaged or even useless.

Also, in accordance to the fact that Autosculpting any body parts will impact performance, these changes can be tested in an enclosed chamber marked as the “Wind Tunnel”. Your car is placed in the Wind Tunnel and artificial winds are created, giving you your performance on the track. You can use this to tune your car to your liking.

The new ProStreet will also feature an advanced damage system, which will directly impact on your car’s performance, unlike previous Need for Speed titles. This is especially significant in the Speed racing mode, as you can easily “total” your car.

Is your PC infected?

If your computer has become infected with a worm, don’t panic, it is not the end of the world.

There are a number of things that you can do.

Microsoft has a security web page.
www.microsoft.com/security/default.mspx It offers up to the minute information on the latest security threats and worms. It also provides you with all of the tools to dig out the worms and fix any damage that they may have caused.

I expect that most of you are saying that you already have protection. May I ask a question?
“Is it up-to-date?”

We all know that virus protection is essential. The trouble is that a lot of us have not updated our virus protection software since we purchased our computer, possibly three or four years ago.

The chances are, it is completely useless against the latest threats.

I am using AGV anti virus. I have found it to be totally reliable. There are other programs, I expect, that are just as good. Zone alarm also has a very good reputation. There are lots of others that won't break the bank.

Go to Google and type in “anti virus programs” and you will get more results than you could shake a stick at.

You only need one of these programs on your computer at one time. More than one and they tend to get confused and anything could happen.

Whatever program you use, be sure to keep it up-to-date. There are new viruses coming out almost on a daily basis. Try to get an update at least once a week. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

A lot of programs will email you when a new virus appears and offer the appropriate update as part of their service.

Whatever you do, don’t leave it until tomorrow. Tomorrow may be too late.

Do it now and sleep easy. Viruses have been known to cause nightmares.
